President Guillermo Lasso sent a letter to Marisol Andrad, director of the Internal Revenue Service (SRI), on Monday, March 28, 2022, to investigate Cynthia Viteri’s ex-husband, Joaquin Cupertino Villamar.

In the letter, the president referred to a March 27 Expresso newspaper publication, which reported that “Viteri’s ex-husband owns new land on a coastal street.”

The Guayaquil newspaper reported that the mayor’s former partner had acquired a large area of ​​land in the 2020 expansion area of ​​Guayaquil, on a coastal road, very close to where the new airport would be located.
